Job Overview: The Head of Network Strategy and Provider Performance Management will serve as the key interface between Allianz and our network of provider partners. The incumbent will serve as a champion for delivery of high-quality medical care for our customers, while driving operational excellence in medical cost and provider network management. The incumbent will provide expert guidance to Operating Entities (OEs) across the region, provide governance oversight for medical and network management, and lead strategic initiatives to build capabilities in OEs and improve operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provider Network Design and Contracting:
- Strategize provider network development to ensure comprehensive coverage.
- Benchmark contracting practices across OEs; establish contracting guidelines and standards to align with organizational goals and drive best practice implementation across markets
- Support OEs in building capabilities to negotiate and manage provider contracts; where necessary, represent senior management in contracting negotiations with major provider networks
- Structure regional and global networks for targeted disease area
Provider Performance Management:
- Establish metrics and processes to assess provider performance.
- Implement improvement plans to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes
Medical Utilization Management:
- Work with provider partners to establish and implement clinical care guidelines across common conditions based on global standards, adapted for local practices
- Develop and implement strategies to detect and control wasteful / fraudulent overutilization of medical benefit
Physician Engagement:
- Foster strong relationships with physicians to drive collaborative healthcare solutions.
- Lead physician advisory boards to gather insights and drive innovation
Disease and Care Management:
- Lead initiatives to improve chronic disease management and care coordination across providers
- Enhance patient engagement and adherence to treatment plans
Pharmacy Benefits Management:
- Design and oversee pharmacy benefits programs to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize drug utilization and access
External Engagement and Representation:
- Represent Allianz Asia Pacific in health summits, regulatory engagements, and industry conferences.
- Develop publications and thought leadership materials to enhance Allianz's reputation in healthcare
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in healthcare management, medicine, or related field.
- Extensive experience in healthcare management 10-15 years, with a focus on utilization management, provider network design, and physician engagement.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to influence and drive change across diverse teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record in strategic planning and execution of healthcare initiatives
- Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot is added advantage.
