Job Summary:
City University is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Executive – Financial Reporting to join our Finance Department. This role is responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, supporting statutory compliance, and ensuring proper documentation for internal and external audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles and reporting standards, with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic academic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Assist in financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure all financial reports comply with applicable accounting standards (e.g., MFRS).
- Maintain accurate general ledger and reconciliation schedules.
- Support year-end closing activities and liaise with auditors during audits.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory submissions (e.g., tax, SST, etc.).
- Review and update financial policies and internal controls as needed.
- Coordinate with other departments to gather financial data for reporting purposes.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (part-qualified candidates from ACCA, CIMA, CPA, etc. are encouraged to apply).
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in financial reporting or general accounting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SQL, SAP) is an advantage.
- Good understanding of MFRS and other relevant accounting principles.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
