We are seeking a Cost Accountant to strengthen our financial controls, perform accurate inventory tracking, and help drive efficiency and accountability across our production cycle. This role is critical in ensuring accurate cost analysis and inventory valuation in a high-value, process-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost reports that include material, labour, and overhead costs associated with precious metals recycling processes.
- Lead and reconcile inventory records for raw materials, work-in-progress, semi-finished goods, and finished goods while ensuring accurate valuation of precious metals.
- Perform regular inventory reconciliations by comparing physical counts with ERP system data and investigate and resolve any variances.
- Contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts for production costs, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations teams to improve inventory accuracy and streamline related processes.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis related to inventory, costing, and compliance.
- Coordinate with Business Development teams to track supplier costs and evaluate the cost-effectiveness of raw material sourcing.
- Analyze production data to identify cost trends, assess material yields, and evaluate the profitability of recycling operations.
- Assist in the monthly financial closing process, including inventory valuation, cost allocation, and account reconciliations.
- Generate reports on cost variance and margin analysis to identify opportunities for cost improvement.
- Provide financial insights and ad-hoc reports to management to support strategic initiatives.
- Apply knowledge of Incoterms to ensure accurate landed cost calculations and assess risk allocation in supplier agreements and international shipments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or CMA) are a plus.
- Familiarity with Incoterms (e.g., FOB, CIF, DDP).
- 2-4 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the manufacturing, recycling, or precious metals industry.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Deskara & Autocount & ERP).
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
