Job Description:

The Contract Management Lead works collaboratively with Technology Procurement Teams, CAMs, Sourcing & Contracting in FBT, FBT Contract Enablement Team, FBT Contract Advisory Team and other SMEs to deliver an optimal contract management approach in line with standard methodologies.

The ideal candidate has strong practical and application experience in post-award procurement contract management, sourcing and contracting of goods & services in the energy sector (Upstream and Downstream), knowledge and strong understanding of contract clauses and legal terms, solid business ethics, coupled with a strong commercial orientation and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

    Drive implementation of contract management activities, e.g. Supporting contract assurance and audit, handle contract expiry and contract close out activities.
    Support initiatives and projects to mitigate risk e.g. contract value leakage.
    Support internal partners with queries about the contracts handled.
    Engage with the wider procurement organisation to obtain alignment on strategy of contracts handled.
    Drive contract risk management and mitigation activities e.g. contract and system mismatches.
    Support audits with information about the contracts handled e.g. all amendments and approvals.
    Spend Management: Monitor bp spend against approved thresholds.
    Contract Management: coordinate contractual obligations e.g. rebates, indexation, insurance documentation.

Essential Education, Experience And Job Requirements

    Bachelor or Masters Degree or relevant work experience.
    CIPS, MCIPS or ISM qualification, or at stage of pre-qualification is desirable.
    3-5 years working experience in Global Sourcing or Procurement Contracting preferably in the energy sector handling goods and services contracts.
    More than 1 year of Contract Management preferably in a service-focused category (e.g. maintenance).
    Has in-depth knowledge of Sourcing and Procurement contracting processes with knowledge and experience in contract review and contract close out and commercial audits.
    Deep understanding of contractual clauses and knock for knock principles.
    Validated experience in complex contract negotiations and handling contractual disputes.
    Strong commercial orientation with appreciation for contractual obligations (rebates, indexation, volume discounts, consignment, buy backs).
    Knowledge and usage of Ariba, Compass or different ERP systems (preferably SAP).
