Job Summary:
We are looking for a Competent Electrical Chargeman (A4) with solid experience in managing and maintaining low voltage (LV) electrical systems, including overseeing electrical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and responding to electrical faults or breakdowns within the facility. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems in a commercial or industrial setting. Immediate availability to start is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage (LV) electrical systems, including switchboards, distribution boards, and control panels.
- Ensure all electrical works are performed in compliance with Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) regulations and safety standards.
- Supervise and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities for electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults, ensuring minimum downtime and safe operation.
- Monitor power consumption and recommend energy-saving initiatives.
- Ensure proper functioning of backup power systems (e.g., generators, UPS).
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate records of electrical operations, inspection logs, maintenance schedules, and fault analysis.
- Support electrical safety audits and assist in implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and internal teams during servicing or project implementation.
- Respond to emergencies involving electrical systems and support facility shutdowns as required.
Requirements:
- Possess a valid Chargeman A4 Certificate of Competency issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, particularly in commercial or industrial facilities.
- Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems, equipment, and protection devices.
- Familiar with electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Good understanding of electrical safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to lead or supervise junior electrical personnel when needed.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills.
- Physically fit, responsible, and able to work under pressure.
- Immediate availability is an added advantage.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
