As the Payment Program Manager, you will be part of an international delivery team whose main tasks will be to develop, customize, implement, and integrate payment and self-service applications into the designated customer environment (on-premises or cloud). This includes all aspects of software engineering practice, working within project teams, end-to-end.
- You possess experience in managing medium to large projects.
- Experience in the banking and/or payments industry is a plus.
- You are fully proficient in PM methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and able to adapt or tailor processes and/or elements to better fit the actual program or project environment.
- Independently manage programs with group of interrelated projects requiring collaboration across multiple functional areas or business groups.
- Serves as an influential interface for DN’s relationships with clients and partners.
- Participate in customer pre-sales activities and workshops as requested to define the cost estimation of the project, using predefined tools contributing to economic and technical feasibility and business value to be delivered.
- Define project plan, budget and schedules all project activities to have a sound basis for project performance measurement and appropriate levels of customer ‘sign off’. At program level, prioritize and plan projects to align with overall business goals and strategies.
- Define and deploy project organization and governance including work streams, roles and responsibilities, advisory board, and steering committees.
- Ensure project realization in terms of scope, time, cost and quality. Proactively manage project performance, risks, and issues against the agreed plan, including the change control process, and initiates timely 'remedial' actions, contract changes and escalations and ensures the formal handover of the solution, based on prior defined acceptance and handover criteria.
- Drive and control project P&L including financial forecasting. Reports accurately and timely the status and profitability of the project and escalates delta's to DN and to the customer. At program level, track budget across multiple projects.
- Ensure all project stakeholders are timely identified and engaged. Establishes trustworthy relations with key stakeholders on operational level. Ensure that conflicts of interests are resolved timely and according to the target project scope.
- Proficient in program and project management processes. Leverage creativity and comprehensive process, tool and software expertise to ensure resources are planned effectively, costs are managed, and reporting is accurate and timely.
- Ensure alignment and prioritization of assigned resources across multiple projects based on demands to ensure the focus, engagement, and high performance of project teams.
- Experience working in a matrix environment and teams working in different geographical locations including offshore. Experience in managing virtual teams is a plus.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior project managers.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or of equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 8 years in project management experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in program management.
- Relevant banking or financial services industry experience will be a definite advantage.
- Good understanding of software product roadmap and lifecycle.
- Experience in working in a global team environment (onsite and virtual), as team player and independent contributor.
- Experience in full software development life cycle under different Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid environments.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills with some basic accounting knowledge.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities, with keen attention to details.
- Result-oriented, strong negotiation, and influencing skills in managing clients and internal stakeholders.
- Customer focused behavior, consultancy, and presentation skills. Able to conduct presentations to both working and steering committees (up to C-levels).
- Fluent English skills (additional regional languages are a plus), with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent reporting and documentation skills to ensure timely, clear, and concise information flow among stakeholders.
- Able to work onsite at customer locations.
- Overseas business travel (up to 50% of time) in Asia Pacific region.
Nice-to-haves
- PMP or equivalent certification.
- Proven SDLC knowledge and experience.
- Knowledge on application interface or messaging protocols (ISO, REST, SOAP, TCP Socket etc.)
- Knowledge in DevOps, CI/CD and automation technologies, e.g., Bitbucket, Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, Xray.
- Experience in project collaboration tools – MS Project, MS TEAM, Jira, Confluence, etc.
- Experience in ATM or POS environments as well as the global card schemes.
- Knowledge in enterprise architecture, Java, SOA, Microservices, containerization, API and modern integration methods (e.g. Kafka) are a plus.
- Knowledge in cloud technologies, such as virtualization, containers, high availability, data security, as well as the design and operation of cloud environments are a plus.
- Knowledge in card (debit and credit) and/or cardless payment projects and, of various flavors of ISO8583 implementations aligned with Payment industry standards, are a plus.
