Marifah International School is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher (IGCSE) to join our academic team. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in Chemistry, experience teaching the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, and the ability to inspire students to develop a deep understanding and appreciation for the subject.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Chemistry lessons, conducting practical experiments, assessing student progress, and contributing to the overall academic excellence of the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons in line with the IGCSE syllabus and school standards.
- Prepare students for internal and external assessments, including IGCSE exams.
- Supervise laboratory experiments, ensuring safety and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, quizzes, and tests; provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive, inquiry-driven classroom atmosphere that promotes scientific thinking.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and behavior.
- Coordinate with science team members for cross-disciplinary learning activities and projects.
- Support and mentor students who require additional academic assistance or enrichment.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, school events, and professional development.
- Contribute to co-curricular activities and represent the department in school functions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience, preferably in an IGCSE or international school environment.
- Familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry curriculum is highly preferred.
- Strong subject knowledge and confidence in teaching both theoretical and practical Chemistry.
- Effective classroom management skills and the ability to engage a diverse group of students.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
- Patient, organized, and committed to student success.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities and school-wide events.
