Job Purpose
To lead and manage marine operations at the LNG terminal, ensuring safe , compliant, and efficient vessel berthing, cargo transfer and coordination of LNG shipments. The Captain will serve as the primary authority for marine safety, navigational oversight and operational integrity within the terminal zone.
Key Responsibilities
Terminal & Vessel Operations
- Oversea all marine activities within the LNG terminal, including vessel berthing, mooring and unberthing procedures
- Coordinate LNG Cargo transfer operations between terminal and vessels, ensuring strict adherence to safety and environmental protocols.
- Monitor and manage navigational safety within the terminal’s jurisdiction, including pilotage , tug assistance and traffic control
- Ensure API 635/650 compliance for tank inspections and maintenance
- Ensure vessel vetting (SIRE,OCIMF) and compliance (Sulphur, Cap, CII,EEXI)
- Supervise STS transfer (LNG, crude, products)
- Manage STS service providers (fenders, hoses, mooring masters)
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Enforce compliance with international maritime regulations ( SOLAS,MARPOL,SEVESO,OCIMF ) and company HSE standards (PSSR,HAZOP) and regulatory (PED,ATEX,API) standards
- Manage EPCIC contractors for terminal expansions/upgrades
- Conduct pre-arrival safety checks, ship-shore interface assessments and emergency response drills
- Identify and mitigate operational risks related to LNG handling, cryogenic hazards and marine traffic
- Optimize inventory management, boil-off-gas (BOG) handling
- Lead emergency response (ERP) and crisis
Documentation & Regulatory Coordination
- Maintain accurate records of vessel movements, cargo operations and incident reports
- Liaise with port authorities, customer and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth clearance and documentation
- Prepare and submit operational reports to management, including berth utilization, turnaround times and incident logs
Team Leader ship & Stakeholder Engagement
- Supervise terminal marine crew, pilots and tug operators to ensure coordinated execution of marine tasks
- Interface with LNG vessel masters, terminal engineers and logistics teams to align operational schedules
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior marine personnel on LNG – specific protocols
- Manage supply chain ( pipeline, storage, shipping logistics)
Skills & Qualifications
Education: Certificate of Competency – Master Marines (STCWII/2)
Experience: Minimum 8 years in marine operations, with 5 years in LNG terminal or tanker command.
Certifications: Valid STCW, GMDSS, Medical Fitness, LNG handling certification (SIGTTO / OCIMF preferred)
Technical Skills: Proficient in LNG transfer systems, terminal automation, ECDIS and port operations

Pay: RM15,000.00 - RM20,000.00 per month
