Responsibilities:
- Preparing/reviewing fixed income credit proposals under the Malaysian and Non-Malaysian Centric Bond Portfolios and Bond Programmes, as well as managing the credit approval process. This work scope includes the following:
- identifying and highlighting pertinent credit issues and key supports
- liaising with business units to optimize limits and manage their risk appetite
- liaising with Group Risk to address their queries/concerns
- handling post-approval work process
- Actively monitor the fixed income portfolios to ensure that any deterioration in the asset quality is swiftly and properly escalated to relevant parties including business units, Group Risk and approving authorities.
- Taking timely and appropriate action in the face of adverse news/development (e.g. limit suspension, placement into watchlist).
- Attend formal meetings as the bank’s authorized representative/proxy, including extraordinary general meetings of bondholders, where material credit-related matters are discussed or resolutions are tabled in connection with the bank’s bond exposures.
- Attend credit committee/asset quality management meetings and assist in addressing queries/concerns of the committee members related to accounts managed.
- Ensuring that all applications comply with applicable rules/regulation/frameworks/guidelines and the Group’s policies and procedures.
- To deliver on ad-hoc assignments assigned from time to time (e.g. stress test, framework/policy/programme reviews).
Requirements:
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA (or its equivalent), Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (e.g. Certified Credit Professional, Professional Credit Certification, Business Credit Professional, Competency Validation Assessment) and OMEGA will be an added advantage.
- Having strong Bloomberg skills would be an added advantage.
- 5-10 years of experience in corporate banking/credit analyst/credit evaluator roles and/or other credit related fields, particularly those which involve assessment of corporate credits.
- Possess strong skills in accounting, financial analysis, credit evaluation, financial modelling and business writing/presentation, and have a good understanding of wholesale banking products, particularly treasury & markets related.
