Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) or Project Manager (PM) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the design and build project lifecycle, particularly for fashion retail outlets, restaurants, and lifestyle commercial spaces. Depending on experience and performance, the position may lead to a full Project Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist or lead in planning, executing and delivering interior renovation projects according to scope, timeline, and budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams including designers, quantity surveyors and procurement to ensure seamless execution.
- Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and keep them updated on progress and key decisions.
- Manage day-to-day site activities including coordination with contractors, suppliers, consultants and vendors.
- Monitor and ensure quality, safety and compliance standards at the project sites.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, site photos and variation orders.
- Identify project risks, propose solutions, and support in problem-solving throughout the project duration.
- Ensure timely handover of completed projects, including attending to defect rectifications during the DLP period.
- Support cost control measures and collaborate with QS on budget tracking and value engineering when necessary.
- Represent the company professionally in all client and stakeholder interactions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years (for APM) or 5 years (for PM) experience in interior design project, renovation, or construction project management, preferably in retail and F&B sectors.
- Strong understanding of project workflow, technical drawings, materials and site coordination.
- Experience managing site activities, work progress, and subcontractor/vendor coordination.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; confident in liaising with clients and consultants.
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Gantt Charts) is an advantage.
- Willing to work during odd working hours as required (in accordance with the mall's designated construction working hours).
- Possess own transport and willing to travel to project sites as required.

Candidates who join as Assistant Project Manager will be evaluated for promotion to Project Manager based on performance, leadership and project delivery outcomes after confirmation or within the first year.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
